We are devoted to the safety of your dog or cat and we strongly recommend that all pets be microchipped.
Microchips are a safe, unalterable, and permanent identification solution for pet. Microchips dramatically increase the chances that you will recover your pet in the event he/she goes missing or is ever separated from you. It is reliable, it won’t come out or become impossible to read, and it can’t be stolen or damaged. The microchip itself has no internal energy source, so it will last the life of your pet.
About the Microchipping Procedure
This minor, painless procedure implants a tiny chip the size of a grain of rice between your pet’s shoulder blades and under the skin. Each tiny microchip is encoded with an individual identification number which when registered in the confidential national database allows for instant identification of your pet.
How the Microchip Works
Veterinary hospitals and animal shelters across the country are equipped with scanners capable of detecting and reading microchips. It is read by passing the microchip scanner over the pet’s shoulder blades. The scanner emits a low radio frequency that provides the power necessary where the chip is located to transmit the microchip’s unique cat or dog ID code and positively identify the pet. If your pet is lost, his or her microchip will be scanned, and the information will be checked against the database to reunite you and your loving companion.
We encourage you to microchip your pet today. Please call us to make an appointment to have your pet microchipped.
