Lewis Gelfand, DVM
I am from Long Island originally, obtained an MS in genetics and my doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. I returned to New York in 1983 and started All Creatures in 1985 as a visiting at home service. Opened All Creatures Veterinary Hospital in 1987 and have happily provided care for Long Beach and the surrounding communities since. I am dedicated to keeping up with the technologic developments which veterinary medicine has experienced in the last 30 years. I became a laser surgeon in 1996 and transformed All Creatures into a digital practice over ten years ago. I am advocate of stem cell therapy and the future applications it promises. I have been blessed with a lovely family with my wife, daughter, son and his wife and my grandson. I am the proud owner of 3 dogs, Packer, Yogi, and Lambeau. I love Yankee baseball, Packer football, old and new movies, reading science fiction, working out and pretending to play golf.

Dr. Raluca Anghel was born and raised in Romania until the age of 14 when she moved to NY. She grew up on a farm with a variety of animals. Her first pet was a chicken named Pipica. Her upbringing led her into the veterinary medicine field and in 2012 she graduated from St. George’s University in Grenada. She spent 1 year at the University of Florida for her clinical rotations before she returned to NY. Her interests are surgery, dermatology, radiology/ultrasound and internal medicine. I started coming to All Creatures over 20 years ago with my dog Lucy ( the best dog) and now it has been over 10 years that I have worked here as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I consider All Creatures my second home that I share with a crazy but loveable Shih-Tzu named l.e.d. ,a not too bright but sweet Standard Poodle named George, and an amazing staff that has the same amount of respect and love for the animals as I do.
Katie Ferguson, LVT

My name is Adele and I have been a receptionist at All Creatures since 2000. I’m the owner of four spoiled cats and one husband. I love working with all the animals, they make me smile everyday
I’ve been a member of the All Creatures staff since Sept 2002. I am a receptionist and I find the veterinary field very rewarding. I’ve been working with animals my entire life. I am the proud mother of three grown children and two grandchildren. Oh and by the way my house is full of fur and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
All Creatures is my second professional home. After a fulfilling career in higher education administration at St. John’s University, I am now embracing another love in helping animals and “their” people. My cats and I have been clients of All Creatures for many years and I am very happy to have become part of this place of healing. I began my second career at All Creatures making phone calls and performing administrative work and after Superstorm Sandy I took over some receptionist duties as well. I love Long Beach, and I share my home here with my sister, our flock of cats and my feline loving dog “Murphy”.

After graduating Vet Tech Assistant school I started working at All Creatures. It’s been 2 years and really enjoy it. My family and I share the house with my Great Dane, Thor. I’ve been rescuing horses since I was 5 years old, and would love to work rescuing tigers one day.
After graduating from SUNY Delhi in May 2017 I moved to my new home in Long Beach and joined the All Creatures team soon after. In my free time I enjoy traveling, being outdoors, spending time with my family, three cats and a beagle.
I have worked at All Creatures for a little over 3 years. Initially this was just a random job I applied to but this field has come to be something I greatly enjoy, it is nice to be surrounded by people who share the same love and respect for animals. Currently I am enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at Suffolk community college. Outside of work and school I love playing sports, mainly basketball, tennis and swimming.
William Welsh, Kennel Manager
I have spent nearly half of my life in the animal care field. In my late teens I was employed at Bideawee animal shelter in Wantagh. There I learned invaluable lessons on animal care and more particularly, canine behavior. Soon after my time was done at Bideawee, I became a dog trainer for Petco. The jump, though educational and advantageous in some ways, left a void for me and I desired to return back into animal care, specifically the veterinary field. Nearly a decade ago, All Creatures gave me that opportunity.
I have been with All Creatures for over 7 years now. I have a dog and three cats of my own. When I am not caring for the animals at All Creatures I can usually be found in my Jeep 4 wheeling somewhere.
